What is Section 8 Housing?
The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program provides rental assistance to income eligible tenants by subsidizing a portion of their monthly rents and paying it directly to their landlords.
Who is Eligible?
Eligibility for a housing voucher is determined by:
1) Total annual gross income. (Income limits vary by location and family size)
2) Family Size
3) Limited to US citizens and specified categories of non-citizens who have eligible immigration status
How to Apply?
There are a few different ways one can apply
1) Apply online.
2) Stop by the office.
3) Give us a call at 207.873.2155 and have an application mailed to you

Waterville Housing Authority has been awarded 15 Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHV).
These EHVs are to assist individuals and families who are
-
experiencing homelessness;
-
at risk of experiencing homelessness;
-
fleeing, or attempting to flee,
-
domestic violence,
-
dating violence,
-
sexual assault,
-
stalking,
-
or human trafficking;
-
or were recently homeless
and for whom providing rental assistance will prevent the family’s homelessness or having high risk of housing instability.
These vouchers require a referral from a Continuum of Care agency.
